Brian D. Melton
Brian Melton maintains an active practice focusing on commercial litigation of all types, frequently representing automotive-related businesses. He manages the legal needs for a variety of dealers, distributors and other companies in civil trials, dispute resolutions and arbitrations, as well as employment and insurance matters.
Mr. Melton is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law as well as Consumer and Commercial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He was named in the Best Lawyers in America publication from 2005 to present and was recognized on the Texas Super Lawyers list by Texas Monthly and Law and Politics Magazine from 2003 to present. In 2007 Mr. Melton was honored as one of the top 15 business litigation defense attorneys in Dallas by the Dallas Business Journal.
ActivitiesMr. Melton has served in more than 20 leadership positions for the Dallas Bar Association during the past 25 years, including Chairman of the Board of Directors in 1999 and President of the organization in 2003. He also has a record of accomplishments in civic and community affairs as Chairman and Board Member of the Dallas Arts District Alliance, Chairman and Member of the Education Task Force of the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce, and numerous other director or trustee positions with groups that include the Town North YMCA, the Dallas Bar Foundation, Ursuline Academy and St. Rita's School. Mr. Melton serves as Chair of the Committee for a Qualified Judiciary from 2009 to present.
EducationMr. Melton received his law degree from Southern Methodist University and was honored as a member of the Order of The Barristers. He earned his undergraduate degree, with honors, from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala.
